WGNO TV 26 is the ABC network affiliate station in New Orleans, Louisiana.
It began broadcasting in October 1967 as WWOM TV, the first independent station in Louisiana. It was owned by David Wagenvoord until its sale to Communications Corp. of the South in 1971. Its call letters were then changed to the current WGNO.
WGNO was purchased by Glendive Media in 1978; Glendive sold the station to Nexstar Media Group in 1983.
