KBOO FM 90.7 is a member-supported, volunteer-powered, non-commercial community radio station in Portand, Oregon. It airs a variety of music programs along with local news and public affairs shows.
The station began from the efforts of a group of Portlanders unhappy that the city lacked a classical music station. They formed the group Portland Listener Supported Radio in 1964 and enlisted the help of Lorenzo Milam, who had started a community radio station in Seattle. KBOO's call letters were chosen as a tribute to a popular marijuana strain called "Berkeley Boo." The station began broadcasting in June 1968.
