The station is an affiliate of the ABC Television Network.
KATV TV 7 is the ABC affiliate station in Little Rock, Arkansas that broadcasts local news and weather along with national network programs in central Arkansas. Launched on December 19, 1953, the station was acquired by Sinclair Broadcast Group in 2013 when Sinclair bought the TV stations owned by Allbritton Communications, the publisher of Politico.
The KATV antenna was located on a massive 2000 foot tall tower near Redfield, Arkansas until January 11, 2008, when the tower crashed to the ground during maintenance and was completely destroyed. No one was hurt in the crash.
This TV station is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc.
