It began broadcasting a few hours a day in 1956 as part of Denver Public Schools and has evolved into one of the premiere public television organizations in the country, claiming over a million viewers each month.
Rocky Mountain PBS is a statewide television network with stations in Pueblo/Colorado Springs, Steamboat Springs, Grand Junction and Durango in addition to KRMA in Denver. Parent company Rocky Mountain Public Media also operates jazz radio station KUVO FM 89.3.
