ABC is a tabloid newspaper published daily in Madrid and distributed across Spain. It is one of the highest circulation newspapers in the country along with El Mundo and El Pais.
ABC was founded as a weekly newspaper on January 1, 1903. It switched to daily publication in June 1905. ABC was seized in July 1936 by the Popular Front, a group opposed to the Spanish monarchy, when the Spanish Civil War began.
