Metro Cote d'Azur was a free daily newspaper published in Nice and distributed to French commuters to provide them with a 'quick read' on their way to work. Like many other Metro newspapers around the world, it failed in part due to the rise of smartphones which made it unnecessary to read the news printed on paper.
