Founded in December 1864, Dagens Nyheter ("Today's News") is one of the highest circulation newspapers in Sweden, along with the daily newspapers Göteborgs-Posten and Svenska Dagbladet. In 2009, DN had a circulation of over 300,000. The paper is known for its strong opinion and editorial page, which is described as "independently liberal."
