Kanal T is a television channel in Turkey launched in January 2008. The channel gained notoriety in 2009 for its plan to produce a religious series called "Tövbekarlar Yarisiyor" ("Penitents Compete"). The BBC reported (see Faiths compete on Turkish TV show) that the show would feature an Islamic imam, a Greek Othodox priest, a Jewish rabbi and a Buddhist monk who would try to convert atheists to their faith. After a flurry of publicity, the production was called off.
