The Columbia County News-Times covered local news in Martinez and the surrounding communities of Columbia County, Georgia. It was delivered to residents of the county who subscribed to the Augusta Chronicle.
GateHouse Media bought the newspaper from Morris Communications in October, 2017. On November 19, 2019, the paper became part of Gannett Company when the owner of GateHouse Media bought Gannett and merged it with GateHouse under the Gannett name.
In February 2022, the Columbia County News-Times suspended publication.
