The Monroe County Reporter covers local news, events and people in the city of Forsyth and across Monroe County in central Georiga.
The newspaper was first published in 1972. Soon after its inception the newspaper merged with Forsyth's long-time weekly, The Monroe Advertiser, the newspaper where journalist and folklorist Joel Chandler Harris worked in the late 19th century. Harris is best known for the Uncle Remus stories.
