It is the flagship station of Indiana Public Radio, which operates a four station network that also includes WBSB FM 89.5 in Anderson, WBSW FM FM 90.9 in Marion and WBSH FM 91.1 in Hagerstown-New Castle. WBSJ FM in Portland was part of the network until January 4, 2019, when it went off the air permanently after its transmitter failed.
WBST began broadcasting in 1960.
