Founded in 1835, The Ann Arbor News has been killed and revivified a number of times. Today it is published twice a week in print by MLive Media Group, a division of Advance Local Media.
The newspaper published what was described as its final edition on July 23, 2009. In March 2009, publisher Laurel Champion had said that sharply declining revenue drove the decision, stating that "business model is not sustainable." The paper was replaced by a web-based media company called AnnArbor.com LLC. In 2013 the service returned to using the Ann Arbor News name and became part of MLive Media Group.
