The Watertown Daily Times covers news in New York State's North Country including Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrence counties. Owner Johnson Newspaper Corporation also publishes a number of community newspapers, and all the JNC publications share the website NNY360, a reference to Northern New York.
The Watertown Daily Times began in 1861 with the New York Reformer newspaper. The paper took its present name in 1870. In 1904 Harold B. Johnson went to work at the Times at the age of 22. He became editor in 1919 and acquired the business in 1932. The newspaper is now in its fourth generation of family ownership.
