The Times traces its roots to 1890, when J.F. Westmoreland founded a weekly newspaper that later merged with The Chairtown News to become The News-Times. The New-Times was eventually acquired by The Tribune. In 1958, the High Point Enterprise acquired the Tribune and re-named it The Thomasville Times.
