The South Lake Press is no longer published. It covered news in Clermont -- home of The Florida Citrus Tower, one of the state's first man-made landmarks -- and the surrounding communities of southern Lake County, Florida. GateHouse Media acquired the paper on January 9, 2015 as part of the $280 million sale of Halifax Media Group to New Media Investment Group Inc., owner of GateHouse. On November 19, 2019, the paper became part of Gannett when New Media bought Gannett and merged it with GateHouse under the Gannett name.

This newspaper was owned by Gannett Company, Inc.

New Editor named for the South Lake Press
-- After Halifax Media Group purchased the South Lake Press from HarborPoint Media Group in October 2013, they named Tom McNiff editor. He replaces Gary Maitland.
