The Santa Rosa Press Gazette covers local news in Milton -- formerly known as Scratch Ankle due to the area's prevalance of prickly shrubs -- and the surrounding communities of Santa Clara County, Florida. GateHouse Media acquired the paper on January 9, 2015 as part of the $280 million sale of Halifax Media Group to New Media Investment Group Inc., owner of GateHouse. On November 19, 2019, the paper became part of Gannett when New Media bought Gannett and merged it with GateHouse under the Gannett name.
