The Orlando Times is an African-American newspaper covering Orlando and Orange County, Florida. Founded by Dr. Calvin Collins and several of his colleagues, the newspaper began publication on July, 5 1975. In describing its mission, the newspaper says "we diligently try to narrow the chasm between races and inform and educate all of our readers by printing positive information about African Americans and other minorities."
