C-SPAN3 covers live events and airs archived historical programming. Officially known as the Cable Satellite Public Affairs Network, C-SPAN is a private, non-profit company created in 1979 by the cable television industry as a public service. It receives no funding from any government. All programs are unedited, uncensored and commercial free and with few voice over announcements.
