-- Los Angeles, March 15, 2010: On Tuesday, March 16th at 5:00 p.m., KNBC-TV 4 Los Angeles will feature Dorsey High School's "Cooking Our Way to the White House" story. The Barack Obama Digital Media Team at Crenshaw High School and Dorsey High's Culinary Arts partners have been working hard to turn their dream of visiting the White House into reality. Non-profit organization, Mother of Many (M.O.M.) is preparing high school students for colleges and careers with certificate programs as outlined by President Obama for students' development.
M.O.M. students learn digital media production skills and earn Apple iLife and Final Cut Pro Program Certification. The partnership with the Dorsey Culinary Arts Program provides endless opportunities to feature cooking shows and events. Last week, the Dorsey High Culinary Arts students prepared the same healthy dishes they made for volunteers working for the 2008 Obama campaign and the Digital Media Team recorded the event.
"We are so grateful for the support we receive from community leaders, our corporate partner, Ogilvy and Mather West, The Squid and Squash Foundation, the University of Southern California and, the notable support of students' parents and friends. Together we raised travel funds and worked hard for our dream to visit the White House," says Daphne Bradford, Founder of Mother of Many.
