-- The Indiana Gazette reported on July 9, 2010:
"It was a class project at East Pike Elementary, courtesy of an Alabama plant farm. Under a marketing program, the farm gives cabbage seedlings to third-graders.
The pupils grow them, and when their cabbage has matured, they're supposed to take a picture of themselves with their cabbage. The farm posts the pictures on its website.
Philip's family donated his cabbage to the Indiana County Community Action Program earlier this week.
About half of it was served Thursday evening at a community dinner, part of ICCAP's Circles program. It was made into coleslaw. Two types. It was salad night, after all.
The other half was sent to ICCAP's homeless shelter and frozen for future use."
