-- Val-Tech Media (VTM), the owner of Writer's Journal, decided to cease publishing the magazine as of January 19, 2012, when a prospective buyer decided not to acquire the publication.

Information for subscribers and contributors is located on the magazine's home page, Writers' Journal -- The Complete Writer's Magazine:

"Subscribers -- We are sorry that we cannot offer refunds -- there is no money in the coffer. However, the Writer Magazine, a monthly magazine similar in tone to WJ, has generously agreed to send two complimentary issues to current subscribers.

Contributors -- Contributors have been paid for any published work. If you, as a submitter, have not been notified that your submission will not be published by VTM, please excuse our oversight -- there are many letters and e-mails to respond to and some may have been misplaced. If we accepted your submission, but have not published it, considered it killed. Please feel free to submit it elsewhere."
