Aviation Week Appoints John Croft Avionics & Safety Editor

-- August 14, 2012: The aviation journalist and former NASA engineer joins Aviation Week's editorial team as Avionics & Safety editor, based in Washington, DC.

Anthony L. Velocci, Jr., Aviation Week group editorial director and editor in chief of Aviation Week & Space Technology Magazine, said, "As a subject expert and widely respected journalist, he will be a valuable addition to our team of reporters recognized for their insightful coverage of aviation and aerospace technologies. His addition will expand our capability to deliver to industry professionals the most authoritative avionics and safety analysis available anywhere."

Croft previously served as Americas editor for Flight International Magazine. Early in his career, he headed engineering teams in the design, test and manufacture of satellite guidance, navigation and control systems.

Croft's appointment at Aviation Week takes effect immediately.
