-- Three supporters of Julian Assange were arrested outside the Ecuadoran embassy where the Wikileaks founder has sought political asylum for the past two months.

Assange has fought his extradition to Sweden on allegations of sexual assault, but the British courts have denied his every attempt.

From WikiLeaks: Three Julian Assange supporters arrested outside London embassy, published August 16, 2012 by the Evening Standard newspaper of London:

"The Ecuadorean president Rafael Correa was expected to announce his country’s decision on Mr. Assange’s case in Quito shortly after lunchtime today.

But the British government has told the South American government that it has legal obligations that it will meet.

“Facilitating safe passage to Ecuador would be inconsistent with our obligations,” said a Foreign Office source.

“He is going to be extradited to Sweden. We are really clear about this.”"
