Just 11% of Americans Trust TV News
-- A recent Gallup poll says that just 11% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in TV news. The numbers are similar for Republicans (6%) and independents (8%) while higher for Democrats (20%).
Newspapers fared somewhat better, with 16% saying they trust newspaper reporting.

Congress will hold hearings on how to help the newspaper business, The Hill

"Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) will hold hearings this week intended to find ways to help the struggling newspaper industry.
